Cinematography Analysis--<Kung Fu Hustle> 1

1. Quality

• Color

In this picture, it show the pegwood's word--"No", but we can't ignore the scarlet nail, scarlet like blood, this color bring some bad feeling for audience, maybe will happen bad thing, like the "No".

There are many black in the picture. It bring oppressive and fear.

• Contrast

It is low contrast.

It is high contrast, there are many black and white, and also is justice and evil.

• Deep focus

In these two shots, all of the different planes of the image are given equal importance through deep focus, not only to the characters, but also to the spaces.

• Shallow focus

These are shallow focuses, director used close-up to highlight the character. 

• Depth of field

In these two shots, they are use depth of field to highlight the character's action (first one), or the character's mind (second one).

• Racking focus

This racking focus shows the turning point of the thing's development, this woman think she is safety, but it's opposite. 

• Telephoto shot

According these two telephoto shots, we can clearly see there is a considerable distance between the man and the other man, which on the floor (first one), the flying woman and the car (second one).
